If you are experiencing slowness in updating your eKEY below are reasons why you’re experiencing this and solutions:
- No internet access – check to make sure you have internet access. You must be in good cell coverage to update your key. If eKey is still not updating call OBAR to get an emergency update code.
- If you’re out in the field and you’re trying to update your eKEY, make sure your wifi connection is not connected to your home/office wifi. The reason being is because the server is trying to connect to that wifi and will not be able to due to the wifi being out of range. Turn off your wifi connection and try updating your eKEY again or switch to an active wifi connection. If eKEY is still not updating call OBAR to get an emergency update code.
- Service failure issue in the area, you’re able to make voice calls, but no data service. Call OBAR to get an emergency update code.
As a friendly reminder, make it a habit to update your eKEY before going out in the field, so you don’t encounter the above issues. Of course also make sure you’re in good cell/wifi coverage when updating your eKEY.
