WARNING: New Phishing Scam Aimed at REALTORS

Dear members,

There seems to be a new phishing email going out that is specifically aimed at REALTORS. The email will state that they are a referral from a past client and that they are a first time home buyer. They will ask you for help in finding a home, and as proof, they will have attached a pre-approval letter. DO NOT open the attachment. It contains a virus.

Signs that the email is a phishing email:

  • The sender does not address you by name.
  • The sender does not say who exactly has referred them to you.
  • The sender’s email domain is strange, and cannot be found by an online search.
  • A reply to the email just bounces back as undelivered.

Remember: NEVER OPEN AN ATTACHMENT FROM AN UNKNOWN SENDER.
